In early 2006 our staff took the required continuing education courses that were needed to utilize the Damon System in treating orthodontic patients. We are very excited with what we are seeing in those patients who are choosing this option. We are finding that many more cases can be treated without the need to extract teeth. This fact plays an important part in Orthodontics as we evaluate the patient’s profile. The system utilizes very light forces combined with minimal friction. The light forces are appreciated by our patients in that their teeth are not as sore as with conventional braces. A third positive difference is the fact that the Damon patients are experiencing faster tooth movement. This translates to a shorter treatment time.
